The Last Black Man in San Francisco is a American Indie movie released in January 2019 and garnered a lot of praise, critical acclaim and a few awards.

What appeals to the audience about this movie is the way it captures beauty in longing, of what is lost and a man’s need to hold on to it.

This forms the thematic undertone to the story of a black man, who believes an old mansion made in 1946 was built by his grandfather and understands it as his rightful property; his home.

The storytelling is poetic, the cinematography is absorbing that captures an ever-changing city, and the characters intriguing. It is a must watch!
