J Levy on GitHub has some really useful repositories for people to refer. One of them offers a brilliant selection of notes and tips on how to use the command line based on his experience from working on Linux.

He’s made the guide keeping both beginners and experienced people in mind. He’s tried to cover everything important with concrete examples of the most common usage with brevity in mind.

The command line interface allows one to manipulate the system’s internals in a fine tuned manner and offers greater flexibility than a GUI.

It’s important to have a basic understanding of CLI given that a lot of programs require running some commands on the CLI.
