Mindfulness is a state of mind where you are aware of everything that is happening around you. It is when you are conscious of what is happening, when it is happening.

Science has proved that mindfulness can improve psychological conditions. According to studies, following conditions can be improved-
– Anxiety
– PTSD
– Chronic depression
– Substance abuse
– Bipolar disorder

There has been a recent surge in mindfulness therapy sessions. It is a way of training the brain, and with more and more practice of mindfulness, the brain develops few psychological changes through the process of neuroplasticity.

The result is, even when we are not consciously aware of our surroundings and situations, we are still practicing mindfulness.

According to a Harvard study in 2011, few participants were asked to do an 8 week program of practicing mindfulness. After the program, it was noticed that there was a significant increase in the density of the grey matter area of their brain.

Other neuroscience laboratories have also conducted a few research programs which showed how mindfulness can change the brain condition in a positive way.
