Researchers at NVIDIA are always at it, when it comes to AI and Deep Learning.

One of their deep learning projects resulted in the creation of GauGAN, named after the painter Paul Gauguin.

The application creates photo realistic images from segmentation maps. These maps are labelled sketches depicting the layout of a scene.

The tool could be a powerful utility to architects, landscape designers, game developers and the like.

The underlying technology has been trained on a million real images to be able to produce convincing imitations.

You can check out their live interactive demo here.
