If you thought Japan is known for sushi, transportation systems and recycling you might want to think again.

Japan’s educational system is one step ahead. It’s innovative and unique.

Especially the way it has chosen to conduct its physical activity session for children in schools. It uses unicycles.

The sessions are not guided and children are encouraged to learn to ride a unicycle through trial and error.

When children learn something on their own, it boosts their confidence and balance. The process encourages creativity too as hula loops and a few other items are left at the children’s disposal.

Furthermore, it promotes a sense of community and togetherness when children help each other out and make up tricks and learn to do them together.

TO DO: Buy kids a unicycle and get them to practice.
